Are you familiar with HR 3531, a bill that would deny money to Sanctuary Cities?
Whether you’re for or against amnesty/illegal immigration, this is your opportunity to voice your opinion and speak out.
HR 3531 would:
Affirm and clarify that state and local law enforcement officials have the authority to apprehend and arrest illegal aliens encountered in the course of their routine duties.
Provide additional federal funding to cooperating law enforcement agencies for the costs of apprehension and detention.
Revoke 25 percent of non-emergency federal Homeland Security funding for sanctuary cities that refuse to change their policies.

I think this bill, along with the County Clerks in NY are on the right track… It’s about bloody time WE wake up – or at least wake up the people we’ve elected to “represent” us.
Excellent post, and i have already that.

LikeDislikeSounds like a very good thing. The illegal immigration problem must be solved and all available resources must be used to solve it.

LikeDislikeI feel that any state or city that gets federal funds must uphold federal laws. If they don’t, then cut off funding to them. Once cut off, funding cannot be restored for One full year.
That will open a few eyes in these so called sanctuary cities. Also, when a church opens its doors and becomes sanctuary places for illegals, they become taxable entities and no longer considered Non-profit.
You cant enforce laws when people promote breaking them.

LikeDislikeYour a dream boat! Yes, and thanks for the post. We need to get on top of this and insure it passes. Not sure that this congress can get the job done though, they are pretty inept. I think Immigration reform is the one thing that Americans overwhelmingly support. This could even give congress a huge bump in their approval ratings if they passed it.

LikeDislikeGreat Bill, won’t pass.
It makes sense, and we all no that Washington does not make sense, especially the congress.
For Gods sake they are trying to pass the DREAM act again.
Do you really think they would do anything to hurt places where valuable possible constituents are living.

LikeDislikeNo,It sounds good, but how much pork is included. The problem is either states have rights or they don’t,do we need the federal government ordering states to use their state rights. I’m against illegals and sanctuary cities, but in a way this is more federal interference in the states. It is a confusing issue,I have offered a solution, but get thumbs down over it. If the people are not united in a solution the problem will remain forever.

LikeDislikeYou go girlfriend! Congressman, Tim Walburg soon should be calling me by my first name! I am always sending him emails and/or calling him and my state senator. It is done!
I have a recall petition going for astute Governor of Michigan. No one has ever taxed their way out of a recession, anywhere, ever!
The illegals will also contribute to crippling effect on the national economy. I would gladly pay extra funding to rid ourselves of the illegals. They have proved to be more cost to the taxpayers by the fires set in California and the obtaining of clothing, food, and shelter meant for the homeowners. Not all of the homeowners were wealthy either.

LikeDislikeIt’s a great idea. But if it becomes law, some schmuck liberal Federal court judge will rule it "Unconstitutional". Can anyone tell me where in the Constitution it says that the federal government has power over the states to control what is essentially a states rights issue to control its own sovereignty?

Article 1, Section 8 and 9. The states do not have the right to set their own immigration policy with foreign countries.
In fact, the courts use this reasoning in striking down many laws enacted at the state and local level against illegal immigrants. (For some reason they turn a blind eye to local laws aimed at encouraging illegal immigrantion.)
